The pharmaceutical company, world leader in the discovery, development, manufacturing and commercialization of new therapies based on molecular biology and recombinant DNA, decides to transfer Milan’s headquarters into a modern building, Silver LEED certified, located in the Bocconi district. The project, designed by 967 Architects, has been developed around a basic concept of space division in two areas. The public area welcomes guests through a reception lounge and spacious meeting rooms, reconfigurable to accommodate up to 50 persons. The private and more operative area features a well combined mix of materials, finishes and furnishings. Glass partitions have been used to separate the reception area and the meeting rooms. In addition to its technical feature, the partitions have been used as surface were to stick graphics and advertising campaigns, printed on special photographic films. Open space desks and cellular offices are characterized by strict and neutral décor, whiles support spaces are much more colorful, more creative. Centralized phone booths support the team during short conference calls or private phone calls. A large and comfortable break area is equipped with a built in kitchen. This space can either be used as a dining room or as an informal space for non-confidential meetings.
